You can tell just by its color and design: the monopoly of the black electricity meter has come to an end. Yello is the first German energy provider capable of replacing the old meters anywhere in Germany – those mechanical rotary electricity meters that have been in the basement for decades and are thus often the oldest electrical appliances in the entire building. The new yellow Sparzähler relays consumption readings to the customer’s PC, enabling customers full control over their consumption and costs for the first time ever.
